MTV's top 10 rappers of 2008

1. Kanye West
2. Jay-Z
3. Lil Wayne
4. Rick Ross
5. Snoop Dogg
6. 50 Cent
7. Lupe Fiasco
8. Young Jeezy
9. Andre 3000
10.T.I.

Hmmm, interesting list to say the least. I guess this is the part where i comment on this selection. 1st off, who made MTV the authority on hip hop? Did you see who they had picking? Sway is still alive? And who was that girl? Or that guy? Or all those other guys? Smh is all i can say.

Besides this of course:

1. Kanye West:
Yeezy, you did good son. Your album was great, I hear your tour is ridiculous and your verse on that Lollipop Remix and I Put On are fire. However, I still think your big brother is better than you. No offense, but Jay-Z will always be number 1 in my list of the hottest current rappers as long as he currently raps. Kanye is either 2 or 3.

2. Jay-Z:
American Gangster was muchhhhh better than Kingdom Come (thank God). Say Hello, Pray, and those aren't even any of the singles. This reminds me of the Jay-Z that had everyone in the world buying the Black Album. Though there was a track or two that I didn't feel was that great. Jay still holds it down in what ever he is featured or whatever.

3. Lil Wayne:
I agree with the MTV people on this, GET AN ALBUM! Da Drought has been over about 5 times now, and Da Drought lasted 3 times plus the 3rd was a double-disc. There is the Prefix, the Suffix, Lil Weezyana, Weezyaveli, etc. Leave the underground fame to the underground artists okay. And Lollipop wasn't hot until iIheard that Ryan Leslie piano-freestyle.
You still the man though. You are at #4 on my list.

4. Rick Ross:
Umm . . . question . . . why is this guy here? I don't think he's been hot since Push It To The Limit. And he wasn't even a top 10 rapper back then. Just because DJ Khaled gives you hot beats and you can get featured on nice remixes doesn't make you nice . . . and you're fat . . . yeah I saw that magazine cover. Not on my list

5. Snoop Dogg:
Snoop doesn't rap anymore world, he sings, you all heard the lovely vocals on Sexual Seduction. So you don't qualify for this list. I still think you nice though.

6. 50 Cent:
So, Mr. Cent, first you got rich and stopped trying, then you got money and stopped making nice songs . . . again? Yeah um, you are definitely not on my list, people bought your album because of one single and your first album, it was a dissapointment. I'm glad I stole it from Target instead of buying it and i'm glad i gave it away. I'll Still Kill ft. Akon is hot though, the again, it features Akon.

7. Lupe Fiasco:
A fresh cool young Lu, well you ain't fresh but you are that nice. If it wasn't for Lupe's verse on the Everyone Nose Remix, i never would have understood the song, the is crazy, the album is religiously addictive, the singles are hot, and you rap about relevant information. You are either 2 or 3 on my list, I think you might have a little up on Kanye though.

8. Young Jeezy:
You're better than I give you credit for, probably because usually whoever else is on the track outshines you, you make good music though. I still need a single from you, you don't make my top 5 but you're up there.

(funny how i started talking to the rappers directly)

9. Andre 3000:
No single, you can rap, but you haven't even been featured on that many verses lately. I think you were nice on the . . . Walk It Out Remix? That was maddd long ago son. Yeah i don't think you make this list either.

10.T.I.:
Why is T.I. so revered? Ludacris is wayyyy better. T.I. is not the king of the south, he's a prisoner actually. (So does that make him like a prisoner of war or something, and does he get perks because he's royalty?) The King wasn't even that hot and that was madd long ago. Stick to acting, I liked you better in American Gangster than on my radio.

My List
1. Jay-Z
2. Lupe Fiasco
3. Kanye West
4. Lil Wayne
5. Nas (anybody heard Be A Nigger Too? Nas is still spittin that knowledge)
6. Wyclef Jean (quite underated yet everybody loves Sweetest Girl. Check out Fast Car and the Remix ft. Lupe)
7. Young Jeezy
8. Jim Jones (hurts me to say so, but Love Me No More is nice)
9. Soulja Boy (people may question his lyrical skills but the words rhyme and we love to say them, plus he makes us dance)
10. CRS (because i had to put as much N.E.R.D. as i could on this list, and Kanye and Lupe are nice)
